About Katelyn

Welcome to my page! I’m Kate and I’m a photographer and videographer. I’ve been a photo professional for 7 years. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Art and Art History and a Master’s Degree in Arts Administration with a graduate certificate in Nonprofit Management. I enjoy supporting, professionally and charitably, local nonprofit organizations and serve as a Director for a number of Metro Detroit area organizations.

I started photography when I studied abroad in Florence, Italy. I took a black and white film class which was instructed by a very knowledgeable and inspiring Italian photographer. I continued taking classes at Albion College when I returned and I still very much enjoy taking film photos, except I only practice as a hobby. 

I’ve worked as a photographer for Albion College’s Marketing Department and Real Estate One as well as a variety of photo projects including corporate head shots, architectural photography, portraits, sports photography, and urban landscapes.

When I’m not working, I like to photograph Urban Landscapes and Public Art in Detroit. A current artistic exploration can be read and viewed on my page “An Image of Sustainability”. I always have my hands on some creative project whether it be a home improvement project, sewing, knitting, or whatever else I put my mind to.
